A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a large project for National Grid. The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with the Senior QS and splitting their time between site, the main office and some home working. The programme includes the construction of a large substation, removal of high voltage overhead lines, access roads and bulk earthworks.

The Quantity Surveyor's key duties will include:

• Preparing internal commercial reporting
• Prepare valuations and all applications for payment
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
• Identifying the commercial risks & opportunities, value engineering and change control
• Measurement of quantities
• Keep accurate site records
• Assist with the development of junior surveyors on the project

Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity must have:

• 2 years experience working for a main contractor on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Experience using the NEC form of contract
• Excellent communication skills
• Driving licence
