We are looking for a skilled Project Planner to join our forward-thinking and growing renewable energy organisation!

Job Description

As a member of our esteemed planning team, your role will involve:

  • Managing renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on wind energy.
  • Identifying suitable sites for wind and solar PV projects across the UK, with a specific emphasis on Wales and Scotland.
  • Engaging with clients, DNOs, Local Planning Authorities, and external consultants.
  • Demonstrating expertise in wind and solar project finances, preparing and presenting proposals both internally and externally.
  • Coordinating and preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and non-EIA planning applications, including writing Environmental Statements and Planning Statements.
  • Conducting on-site visits to assess the feasibility of wind and solar installations.
  • Cultivating collaborative relationships with landowners and establishing connections with potential clients.
  • Coordinating with statutory and non-statutory consultees.
  • Displaying problem-solving skills, maintaining a goal-oriented approach.
  • Organizing and facilitating stakeholder workshops and pre-application consultations.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Previous planning experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically in wind energy.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
  • Associate membership of RTPI/IEMA (useful but not mandatory).
  • Methodical, accurate, and process-focused work style.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Exceptional report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
