Safety Assurance Engineer needed.
12 Month contract
SC Clearance required
£73 per hour - 7.5hrs per day
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all the Safety Assurance activities on the project.
- Define Safety plan and manage safety workload and associated planning.
- Perform Safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review Design, V&V, T&C activities from a Safety perspective.
- Build the Safety Reports and the Safety Case.
- Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the project.
- Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close the findings of the assessor.
- Manage (if any) the Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of our annual assurance plan.
- Oversee the gathering and communicating of assurance information to relevant parties.
- Support the Head of Assurance in the continuous improvement of our assurance framework.
- Promote high standards and a coordinated approach to assurance activities.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree
- >5 years of experience in Nuclear projects
- Relevant experience in Safety Assurance in Nuclear Safety Projects.
- Successful experience in working in a multi-site, multi-cultural environment.
- Working knowledge of Safety Methods: Safety Plan, Preliminary Hazard Analysis PHA, Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis FTA, Interface Hazard Analysis IHA, Operation & Support Hazard Analysis OSHA, Safety related Item List SRIL, Hazard Log HL, V&V Safety Report, and Safety Case.
- Proven experience in risk management, internal controls, financial management, and audit in an operational setting.
- Experience in planning and undertaking assurance reviews/audits, forming evidence-based conclusions and recommendations, and documenting them in written reports.
- Proven history of collaborating successfully with individuals from different departments and organizations.
