Safety Engineer
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 + Benefits
Location: Preston (3 days on site per week typically), a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements are possible.
SC Clearance will be required for this position (UK Passport holders with 5 years of current UK residency)
Skills and experiences:
- Either a background in Safety Engineering and an understanding of safety crtitical regulations OR a background within ILS / Through Life Support with a desire to move into Safety Engineering.
- Engineering degree or equivalent Safety or ILS experience
- 2 years or more in a Safety Engineering position already (UK based)
General Duties:
- Undertake Independent Safety Assessments to support the delivery of the Support & Training Solutions for UK and International Customers.
*The need for ISA experience is not critical, we can take a System Safety or Product Safety background and upskill them for ISA work.* - Working on multiple military aircraft platforms, this is an exciting and varied role.
- Reviewing Processes and contribute into improvements to ensure efficiencies and meeting delivery SLA's
- Working with the Product technical authority to provide levels of assurance against the proposed support changes.
- A basic awareness of Safety Standards is desirable (Def-Stan 00-55 / 00-56 would be ideal)

Your responsibilities will span Independent Safety Assurance and ensuring compliance with Design Organisation Regulations, reflecting our commitment to upholding the highest safety standards across all aspects of the business.
You will conduct audits across various departments, your scope will be extensive, requiring a diverse range of knowledge across all support activities. Through our through-life management approach, you will be dedicated to understanding the impact of support functions on overall aircraft safety.
