Senior Buyer - Utilities Sector - Peterborough
£45,000 to £58,000 + package
A leading utilities provider is seeking a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team, based in Peterborough. This role will take ownership of key procurement activities across a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring best value, compliance, and long-term supply chain resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes for goods, services, and works within the utilities sector.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to secure cost-effective and sustainable outcomes.
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
- Provide commercial input into project planning and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement strategies and supply chain performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within utilities, infrastructure or construction sector experience
- Strong knowledge of contract management and procurement processes.
- Ability to negotiate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercially astute with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- CIPS qualification or working towards it preferred.
