Senior Commercial Officer needed for a leading Energy organisation based in Dorset who are looking to employ an experienced Senior Commercial Officer who takes pride in their work.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Senior Commercial Officer will include:

• In conjunction with business sales and project teams, prepare and promptly submit legally sound, commercially competitive bids, quotations, responses, and proposals to satisfy customer enquiries, in accordance with business management processes and procedures, assisting with any associated contract negotiations.
• Receive customer purchase orders / contracts and match them to business proposals and quotations. Co-ordinate and complete commercial contract reviews. Enter and manage customer sales and project data on the business management ERP system and other associated business databases.
• Processing of customer orders and the production of project sales invoices in a timely, accurate and effective manner.
• Liaise with other business functions (i.e., sales, projects, finance, quality etc.) to assist in the smooth running of customer projects. Attendance at internal / external meetings as required to support business unit demands.
• Carry out international trade compliance activities and perform audit checks of imports and exports made by the business.
• Prepare and submit export license applications via SPIRE for controlled goods in support of business unit projects. Ensure that all tangible and intangible exports comply with UK and US (ITAR) licensing obligations.
• Drafting and negotiation of Commercial / Framework Agreements (as delegated by the Commercial Manager) and the commercial management of specific customer supply and service delivery contracts

What you need to be the successful Senior Commercial Officer:

In order to be the successful Senior Commercial Officer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

• Able to obtain national security clearance to SC level.
• Holder of a full UK driving license

Required Skills:

• Membership of a recognised professional body e.g. IACCM (World Commerce & Contracting), or CIPS is essential.
• Able to demonstrate prior experience of working in a busy commercial team providing contract management support.
• A working knowledge and practical experience of export controls and trade compliance in general would be an advantage.
• Commercially aware, with a good understanding of the role of the finance and sales functions is desirable.
• Practical experience of using an ERP system such as Costpoint, IFS or SAP would be an advantage.
• Experience of NEC 3 / 4 contracts would be advantageous.
• Experience gained in a highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
