Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer
Bristol or Glasgow - with flexible working options.
£60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus and gernerous benefits package.
This role is working with a Technology based consultancy that has offices across the UK and also internationally, they are renowned for taking on challenging projects and employ the best people in their fields.
In this position you will be supporting a range of electrical projects within the Defence, Energy and wider Industry sectors.
The majority of this work will be in highly regulated and safety critical industries, often on projects delivering the highest profile engineering challenges in the UK. Some examples are nuclear new build projects and also plant life extensions to our existing power stations, you could work on UK defence facility upgrade projects, renewable energy and storage schemes as well as marine power systems and process plant design projects.
There is a wide range of exciting things to get involved in.
You will support these activities across the whole project lifecycle, from requirements capture, FEED to qualification and commissioning, also providing robust independent technical assessment of proposed designs in support of clients and the Regulators.
The ideal person for this role would have a strong technical project delivery background and experience that includes several of the following:
- 33kv Electrical Engineering experience.
Work experience on innovation type projects in the power transmission and distribution sector
Taking new systems and technologies from concept stage through to delivery.
High voltage AC and DC electrical power and distribution system design, including power system or grid connection studies.
Managing the production, verification and approval of electrical reports, specifications and detailed design drawings.
Specialist equipment support, for generators, transformers, switchgear, cables.
Managing a project team and meeting the deliverables to agreed timelines and budget.
Client facing experience.
Mentoring and development of less experienced electrical engineers.
Requirements
Proven HV electrical engineering experience in a relevant industry. 33kv minimum.
Degree educated (Electrical Engineering) OR significant relevant experience.
CEng or working towards.
Technical leadership experience - being the escalation point for others.
Possess up to date knowledge and experience in the electrical discipline in particular relation to the following:
Electrical Design (FEED and Design Specification)
Verification of design/substantiation deliverables
Transmission / Distribution
Industrial and Energy
Private Wire Networks / Micro Grids
Experience with working to ISO 9001.
