Brief
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer needed for a multinational defence-engineering organisation-based Cwmbran and Gloucester who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Senior Mechanical Design Engineer that takes pride in their work.
The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant experience in Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and have a keen interest in Senior Mechanical Design Engineering. If you Senior Mechanical Design Engineer experience within the Defence industry this is advantageous.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will include:
- You'll excel in leadership and coordination, managing resources and workloads across multiple concurrent programs, preferably within the Aerospace sector
- As an SMDE, you'll play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and contributing your expertise to high-complexity programs. You'll collaborate closely with Chief Engineers and support them through your extensive experience and insights.
- Coordinate and plan all design activities to meet delivery timelines.
- Report status, forecast progress, and update KPIs.
- Develop tools, processes, and methods to achieve project design milestones.
What experience you need to be the successful Lead Stress Engineer:
- Extensive experience leading projects through complete lifecycle
- Highly skilled in Catia and PLM software
- Proficient at scheduling design activities across various modules.
- Excellent communication skills for setting expectations and collaborating effectively.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (2:1 minimum) in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering (Essential).
- Minimum 5 years of Aerospace or comparable industry experience (Essential).
