Senior Network Engineer needed for a leading medical devices engineering organisation based in Crawley.

The successful Senior Network Engineer would desirably be educated to degree level, or equivalent professional/vocational qualification. We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with current Cisco CCNA certification who has been operating at a senior level for a number of years.

Whilst an onsite presence will be required, flexible home working will be supported.

What the role of the Senior Network Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the Senior Network Engineer will include:

• Supporting network initiatives, detailed network designs and deployments as well as coordinating technical issues with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Supporting the design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of network systems in Microsoft Azure.
• Responsibility for expert-level troubleshooting of any problems relating to networking issues
• Adhering to Cloud access-management incident response and change control procedures.
• Developing Cloud infrastructure project plan, technical specifications, design documents, roll-out and test plans
• Contributing to Cloud policies and process development using industry best practices
• Contributing to mentoring junior staff and knowledge transfer to Cloud Services team
• Supporting network initiatives, detailed network designs and deployments as well as coordinating technical issues with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

What experience you need to be the successful Senior Network Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years IT experience with on-going skills development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills. Ability to rapidly identify and resolve issues under pressure.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and well organized
• Can handle multiple tasks with clear sense of ownership and priority
• Can see the big picture, and strive for constant operational improvements in a changing global environment
• Cisco CCNA certification required. Checkpoint CCSA is a plus.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls is a plus.
• Experience with Cloud Networking technologies (Azure) is a plus
• ITIL Foundation certification is a plus

Required Technical Skills:

• Microsoft Azure networking
• Experience with networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP, VPN, IPSEC, VoIP, and QoS
• Experience in WAN/LAN networking including routing, switching, security, load balancing
• Working knowledge of Enterprise Datacentre environment
• Knowledge of Fortinet firewalls preferred
