Title: Senior Planning Engineer
Location: Derby (2 days per week on site, remainder remote)
Contract: Long-term
Rate: £450-600 per day
Are you an experienced Senior Planning Engineer ready to play a key role on one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure programmes? Our client - a leading, forward-thinking consultancy - is seeking a dynamic planner to join their team on a major multi-billion-pound project based in Derby.
Working alongside a highly experienced team you will support the delivery of a complex, high value programme.
This is a hybrid role which is split two days per week on site with the remainder working remote. Current SC level security clearance is required to be considered.
Role
- Develop, maintain, and manage complex project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Provide proactive planning support to project and programme teams in accordance with NEC contracts.
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress, analyse delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Produce robust, insight-driven reports and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within a high-performing project team.
Candidate
- Proven background as a Planning Engineer or Senior Planner on large-scale, complex programmes (preferably infrastructure, defence, or energy).
- Advanced Primavera P6 capability - expert-level user.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Current SC (Security Check) clearance is essential.
