Senior Quantity Surveyor needed for a leading contractor based in Derby who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Senior Quantity Surveyor that takes pride in their work with experience on similar infrastructure or civil projects.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:

• Review and negotiate conditions of contracts and warranties
• Administer contracts
• Advise operations staff within the team regarding commercial and contractual issues
• Prepare commercial and contractual correspondence
• Prepare internal valuations and financial reports
• Prepare external valuations
• Negotiation and administration of Sub-Contracts and pay Sub-Contractors
• Identify and prepare claims
• Negotiate settlements of accounts
• Review costs against budget and manage accrual

What experience you need to be the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
• Extensive experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of construction contracts and law
• Confident in using NEC suite of contract
• Commercial awareness
• Good communication skills
• Negotiation skills
• A general appreciation of design, tendering, and construction processes
• Analytical thinking
