An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a growing pipeline of projects within the education sector across the West Midlands. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be developing a small team and taking responsibility for the commercial and financial management of these projects with build costs of between £10m and £30m for clients including the Department for Education and various education academies across the region.

Some of the Senior Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities will include:

• Preparing draft-subcontracts and approving sub-contracts prepared by the wider commercial team
• Supervising, encouraging and mentoring junior staff with their own personal & professional development
• Ensuring the timely submission of all relevant data to ensure accurate reports
• Processing main contract payments and ensuring they are in line with the agreed terms
• Assist the Contracts Managers with the administration of sub-contractor performance
• Resolve any disputes and provide timely solutions
• Provide daily support and guidance to a small commercial team
• Work closely with the clients inhouse team, stakeholders and external consultants

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience working on building projects within the UK, ideally on those delivered using the JCT Design & Build Contract. You'll need first class communication skills, be driven and keen to learn and confident when working with others.
