Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major UK Water Framework (Hybrid)
South West London
£56,000 to £75,000 + car & package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor on a capital delivery framework in South West London. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining an industry leading name - one that is well recognised for delivering complex, high value projects for clients operating within the UK's water industry. The role promises an excellent work life balance, a structured career path, exposure to interesting projects and a generous salary and supporting package.
Working closely with the Managing QS, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the full commercial life cycle of projects typically valued between £8m and £40m delivered under the NEC forms of contract. In most cases, you will operate as the commercial lead, working closely with the site, design and client teams to ensure robust cost control, risk management and commercial performance throughout each stage of the project.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Full commercial management from project inception through to final account
- NEC contract administration, including compensation events and change control
- Cost forecasting, CVRs, and commercial reporting
- Procurement and management of subcontractors
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required
- Working collaboratively within a regulated environment
This role will suit a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC experience and a background in infrastructure, civil engineering, or utilities projects.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience operating at Senior QS level on mid-to-large value projects within the infrastructure, heavy civils, water, utilities or similar sectors
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Ability to manage projects independently and interface confidently with stakeholders
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused commercial mindset
In return, the Senior Quantity Surveyor can expect a rewarding career that includes an excellent work life balance with 3 days expected on site and 2 days remote working, exposure to a range of projects including waste water treatment works, pumping stations and water storage sites, lots of autonomy and a generous salary & package that includes:
- Starting salary of £56,000 to £75,000
- £5,000 car/travel allowance
- 25 days leave + 8 bank holidays
- Private pension contributions
- Private healthcare
