A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor at their offices in Southampton. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a growing team delivering an increasing pipeline of work for both private and public sector clients with project values ranging from £10m to £70m.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be managing the commercial resources on their assigned project and tasked with maximising cashflow and margins. You'll be supporting the project team with your commercial and contractual expertise and often involved with projects from procurement through to handover back to the client. Some of your other key duties will include:
- Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
- Prepare and present monthly cost reports
- Value the works undertaken but sub-contractors
- Negotiate on final accounts
- Approve payments to suppliers and subcontractors
- Assist with the mentoring and development of other surveyors within your team
