Senior Quantity Surveyor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a large pipeline of civil engineering projects in Lowestoft and across East Anglia. The projects will include flood defences, tidal walls, harbour protection, water pumping stations and all the associated infrastructure.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with an experienced team of surveyors, heavily involved with project procurement but also taking projects through to final account settlement in a number of years time. Some of your key duties as the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:
- Take a lead role in the procurement and tendering process
- Support a small team of surveyors by assisting with mentoring, offering commercial and contractual advice and guidance and supporting the Project and Commercial Leads with the smooth running of the programme
- Monitor project costs and act accordingly to keep them within budget
- Identify, mitigate and manager commercial risks
- Monitor project cash flow, ensuring payments are made correctly and on time
- Manage the subcontract tender process

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of main contracting procurement processes, good NEC knowledge and strong reporting skills. Ideal candidates will also have experience of working on civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities projects although this isn't essential.
