Senior Software Engineer
Experienced Senior Software Engineer required to play a key role in an established, highly skilled and dynamic team, to support underwater communication system projects. As part of this team, the Senior Software Engineer will be working in an Agile development environment working on products in-line with client requirements. Working with MATLAB for prototyping and C++, the Senior Software Engineer will support application development to provide next generation capability across a number of key programmes of work.
What will you your responsibilities be as the Senior Software Engineer?
- Reading into the already produced design documents to understand the connecting equipment, data flows and PCIe cards
- Liaising with the team members to understand the already existing and working software that is needed to be encapsulated in the software architectural design
- Implementing the design, ensuring the equipment runs in real time
- Maintenance and bug fixing of the hardware software drivers and receiver software
- Optimisation of software for real time performance, including the potential of converting MATLAB code to C++ using the MATLAB "mex" functionality
- Conducting FAT and user acceptance testing
What experience must you have to be the Senior Software Engineer?
- Degree educated in a STEM discipline
- Have 4+ years Software development experience with strong C++ & Hardware
- Confident developing MATLAB and C or C++
- Have experience working at multiple stages of development lifecycles
- Knowledge of naval/maritime architectures advantageous
