Shift Manager
12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Shift Manager needed for a multinational defence organisation based in Cheshire. Ideally you will have experience in team management and hold a Manufacturing and Engineering background within Aerospace or Automotive.
The successful candidate would desirably be qualified in NEBOSH/IOSH and/or Environmental Managing Safety or hold an Engineering HND/Degree qualification.

What the Shift Manager role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Shift Manager will include:
- Managing the safety of the employees working within the given manufacturing area.
- Responsible for the process quality within the given manufacturing area; ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures.
- Monitor and assess quality data, to aid the implementation of quality improvement projects.
- Responsible for achieving the required efficiency and effectivity levels in support of the operational cost budgets.
- Efficient operating of manufacturing processes and facilities to meet production programme requirements.
- Support and implement CI activities utilising lean tools & problem-solving techniques to drive process improvement.
- Responsible for support, develop and motivate all team members.
- Support and drive a high-performance culture & environment and address training and flexibility requirements.
- Managing people and process performance within the given manufacturing area; that includes discipline, development, supervision, time management and attendance.
What experience you need to be the successful Shift Manager:
- Strong safety background
- Experience in leading and managing a cross-functional team, in a target driven environment.
- Success in implementing and sustaining continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to influence through effective involvement and engagement with key stakeholders, earning trust from others and embracing teamwork.
- Understand technical engineering processes
