Software Engineer needed for a multinational leading electronics organisation based in Buckinghamshire who are looking to employ an experienced Software Engineer to implement, test and verify software components for an Electro Optic Surveillance system deployed in a naval military environment with high integrity and reliability requirements.

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Software Engineer will include:
* Software development in accordance with company procedures and tools
* Development and documentation of the Software Design, through Software Design and Interface Specifications
* Writing and running Software Test Specifications
* Attending regular project, schedule and risk reviews with the project manager and Team Leader
* Provide project input to project progress reports and meetings, engineering estimates to complete and input to risk identification and mitigation
* Supporting Systems Integration and fault investigation
* Software design using a combination of UML and free format word design document
* Working within an Agile environment contributing to daily scrums and backlog estimating
* Software\Hardware integration and debugging
* Fault analysis and resolution
* Software Design Proving and supporting Acceptance Tests
* Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests
* Supporting Integration Tests
* Supporting System Acceptance Trials
* The provision of software modules to an agreed time, cost and quality
* The provision of software documentation according to the software development process
* Adhering to safety and security policies
* Representing the company in a professional manner in the presence of customers
* The provision of accurate reports of progress in a timely manner
* Attend daily scrums reporting on work done and work to do
* Attend bi weekly sprint planning meetings contributing to estimating and task identification and task definition
* Design, Implementation and test of software modules
* Documentation of software design, software tests and software releases
* Bug resolution utilising approved workflows to support controlled change
* Adhere to company policy on timekeeping and time recording

What you need to be the successful Software Engineer:
In order to be the successful Software Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:
* Must be proficient in the use of:
o UML
o C++
o Visual Studio multi-threaded windows Human Computer Interface design
o Hardware/Software Interfacing and Integration
o MSOffice
o Network configuration and troubleshooting (TCP\UDP\IP\SNTP\IGMP)
* Digital video encoding techniques Desirable for project:
o Rhapsody
o QNX
o Jira
o Subversion
o VxWorks
o Linux and Windows device drivers
o FreeRTOS
o PIC32
