Software Installation Lead
Description -
The Software Installation Lead will provide technical support for Treatment Planning, Oncology Informatics and QA Solutions software.
This is a critical interface role between the R&D teams, Test Facilities team and test system user teams, chiefly Verification and Validation, providing the opportunity to install, use and support first of type software on the Unity MR-LINAC.
Responsibilities -
Maintain the test infrastructure, including application and supporting SQL servers in our hospital-representative facility to maximise system availability for development, testing and training use
Proactively investigate and resolve technical issues that impede the installation.
Work with the R&D teams throughout the company to understand the timescales and contents of forthcoming software releases and establish what will be required to implement pre-released software into the Test facility
Schedule and perform the required changes (installations, upgrades, downgrades, removals) to systems and supporting databases to maximise system availability
Rigorously verify that the systems are fully functional and ready for use after any intervention or significant software change through the completion of clinical workflows
Troubleshoot issues during software deployment and provide detailed feedback to the development teams
Manage the departmental assets supporting the test infrastructure, including Software Test Benches, Virtual PC hosts, ancillary PC systems (e.g. Offline Monaco workstations)
Form good working relationships with my clients IT, software development teams and software automation teams to facilitate rapid and accurate deployment of software test hosts and related infrastructure
Ensure infrastructure is actively monitored and easily and rapidly recoverable in case of a software or hardware failure
Distribute knowledge by providing Training and support to users and team members to ensure there is a shared understanding of the test infrastructure
Provide a service to the users to assist in overcoming any issues they have in the use of the Software Test Infrastructure
Ensure changes to the tests systems are recorded and baseline configurations are maintained
Relevant Knowledge, skills and competencies -
2-3 years' experience with MOSAIQ Oncology Informatics and Monaco Treatment Planning software
Strong proficiency with the following: all MS server/Workstation operating systems, MS SQL Server, Linux operating systems and Citrix Metaframe/XenApp, particularly within a domain environment
Familiarity of VMware vSphere Hypervisor architecture and tools (vCenter, vCenter Converter™, vSphere Thin Provisioning, vSphere Update Manager™, vSphere Content Library)
Knowledge of GUI test automation tools and methods to deliver autonomous software installation deployment.
Familiarity of Microsoft Azure platform
Excellent PC and networking technical skills
Proven talent for troubleshooting problems within all aspects of IT environment
Experience providing technical support on third-party equipment
Ability to work independently and effectively interact with colleagues in other departments, business areas and regions
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to initiate and drive positive change
ISTQB Tester Foundation Level desired
MSCE, CCNA and/or Citrix CCA certification desired
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field desired
