Software Tester needed for a Software House organisation based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire who are looking to employ an experienced Software Tester.

Some of the main duties of the Software Tester will include:

• Create and execute test scripts appropriate to the methodology used in the project
• Record defects in the appropriate defect tracking software
• Support out of hours testing when required
• Estimate testing effort required for both agile and waterfall methodologies
• Create, execute and maintain automated tests
• Review test plans and scripts created by other members of the team
• Review specifications and implementation plans
• Keep abreast of testing techniques and methodologies

In order to be the successful Software Tester and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to build constructive working relationships with colleagues and other teams within the company
• Ability to self-manage time and workload
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven structured IT testing experience
• Exposure to automated testing tools and techniques
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle processes including Agile and Waterfall
• Be aware of GDPR and security requirements.
• Ability to write object orientated code in C#

Desirable skills:

• ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
• High motivation to learn new skills
• Familiar with Git source control
• Experience of writing BDD tests in tools such as SpecFlow/Cucumber
