Strategic Business Controller

Responsibilities -

To provide financial and other business support to both the Business Line Management and R&D

groups. Concentrating on the Product Creation Process (PCP), the focus will be on supporting

activities and challenge assumptions to ensure that expenditure is optimized and in line with

business strategy.

Business Line Management Support:

Supporting Business Line Management in Investment Appraisal and ROI calculations (challenging

assumptions, calibrating competing proposals, and retrospectively reviewing benefits delivered

achieved)

R&D Support:

• Project Costing and Reporting - Ensuring clear analysis of R&D project costs in a multi-site environment, supporting R&D (developing and maintaining global structure and reporting solutions)

• Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting: Support capacity planning on an operational basis, and structurally support budget & forecast process.

• R&D Capitalisation / amortisation - Drive the harmonisation of the R&D Capitalization and amortization process, guiding and recommending process and executing

Required skills and experience -

• Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA preferred)
• Background in both Financial and Management Accounting environment
• Strong knowledge and experience in investment appraisal is essential
• Background in developing financial control governance frameworks
• Background in R&D project control is essential
• Analytical skills; strong capability in structuring and simplifying complex issues and handling large amounts of data

• Work with a high degree of integrity and composure
• Ability to visualize and develop narrative for financial results for both finance and non finance stakeholders
• Ability to build quality relationships to successfully business partner
