System Safety Engineering Manager
Bristol or Yeovil with Hybrid working

Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Principal System Safety Consultant / Manager that ois open to a step up in their career to join our highly successful Aerospace and Aviation client as the new System Safety Engineering Manager. This role is closely linked to Aircraft Safety and as such we are looking for evidence of previous experience in this domain.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Formal System Safety training or proven career background
- Evidence of leading and developing Safety Assessments for complex MoD systems and or aircraft.
- Manages staff performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Safety Engineering Product Safety, System Safety and Service Safety Management
- Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Manages, develops and motivates employees
- Strong communication skills coupled with a proven technical competency.
- Skilledwith project management processes and tools.
- Safety Engineering and Environmental Management experience in the application of Def Stan 00-056 and POSMS
- Developing Safety Management Systems
- Management of Safety Cases
- Hazard Log Management
- Use of safety tools, such as, eCassandra, ASCE, Reliability WorkBench, Fault Tree module or BowTieXT
Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of an organizational framework to deliver effective Product, System and Service Safety Management and Safety Engineering Support to the Aircraft Programme.
- Leadership and the growth of a qualified and experienced team to provide Engineering Support to the Aircraft Programmes and Campaigns.
- Work closely with other functional staff on Safety Management and requirements for new projects.
- Performance Manage and develop the Safety Engineering Team, including the ability to employ early career and intern staff.
- Planning and forecasting of Safety resource requirements and management.
