The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Systems Engineer?
- Bridge the gap between cross-functional team members and stakeholders across engineering disciplines.
- Design system operating modes including power-on sequences, self-tests, and fail-safes.
- Champion pragmatic systems engineering practices tailored to the needs of each project.
- Capture, organise, scrutinise, and challenge customer requirements.
- Define system interfaces and oversee project handovers.
- Drive re-use and standardisation across product lines to maximise engineering efficiency.
- Lead architecture, interface, and requirements development with a focus on real-world application.
- Perform system-level safety analysis, validation, and verification activities.
- Develop and tailor repeatable processes to add long-term value to product development cycles.
What are we looking for in our next Systems Engineer?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in applying systems engineering practices across full development lifecycles.
- Strong experience with lifecycle artefacts: requirements, interface definitions, safety analysis, and verification.
- Familiarity with power electronics preferred; systems engineering expertise essential.
- Experience working with embedded software within complex systems.
- Working knowledge of MBSE and traditional systems engineering approaches.
- Comprehensive understanding of systems engineering activities from concept through to validation.
- Ability to deliver engineering outputs in a structured, traceable, and requirements-led environment.
- Hands-on systems testing experience.
- Knowledge of power systems and electronics.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama).
- Experience working in agile environments (sprints, scrums, Jira).
