Technical Manager needed for a highly reputable construction and utilities organisation. This is a role within the Divisions central Engineering function. The successful candidate will lead on requests for Mechanical support across the region and will be responsible for setting standards across Northern England in the Mechanical disciplines.

We are looking for a highly competent Mechanically biased Engineering/Technical Manager/Supervisor, who is ready for the next step.

You will be joining a dynamic and growing central engineering function, with the ability to work autonomously, and sculpt the future of the support we offer.

The specific Job description of the Technical Manager:

For this role in particular the Technical Manager will:

• Ensure all sites are compliant with the requirements to have APs/ CPs/ RPs, SkiP, Controlling Managers in post and managing the services in accordance with the relevant standards.
• Clearly define policy and procedures to ensure compliance with a range of engineering
• In conjunction with the wider stakeholder group, develop a suitable assurance process to ensure that the standards set in policies are being delivered upon by the individual contracts and the supporting supply chain (sellers, manufacturers, designers, and service agents).
• Manage 3rd party AE organisations as they interface with the relevant region or location.
• Work closely with operational and other business teams to put in place the appropriate standards, systems, processes, and ways of working to deliver excellence in engineering and allied technical disciplines, including the mobilisation of contracts.

The required skills of the Technical Manager:

Specifically, the Technical Manager will need:

• Significant experience of Estates Management in a related Services environment
• (Manufacturing, Industrial, Healthcare, Education, Commercial facilities and environments).
• Proficient at drafting technical reports, be able to support and actively lead accident or operational incident investigations
• A Subject Matter Expertise (SME) who can support across the business including into bids, projects, new opportunities, and day to day operational support, including advice and guidance on best practice standards, system and operational asset performance improvements.
• Be able to define, implement, monitor and audit suitable Safe Systems of Work as it relates to specified areas
• Isolation and maintenance of Steam or/and High/Medium Temperature Hot Water experience
• Water Hygiene Management Experience
• The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (current edition)
