Technical Tester

Office between Solihull and Coventry/ remote working

£40,000-£50,000 + benefits

THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are currently looking for talented Technical Testers to join us on a fantastic journey and help us to build quality applications and services across the 1link product ecosystem

We work in partnership with the business and engineers to implement awesome products, our engineers are using technologies such as: React JS, ASP.NET and .Net Core, SQL Server, Mulesoft, Azure and are also starting the journey into serverless through AWS starting having already started to utilise Kubernetes and Docker to allow us to decompose some of our existing technology as a first stage in re-architecting.

You will collaborate closely with other Software Engineers and Designers across multiple platforms and technologies to ensure our systems meet expectations, are highly useable, reliable and performant. You will also be a part of our local communities of practice to help identify new technologies which could be used to help us gain a competitive advantage in the dynamic payments industry

You will be also helping to contribute towards the automation of our regression testing. We are currently re-engineering our automation framework, and there are future opportunities to get involved in this and get a solid footing as an automation engineer (should you wish to).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Have a solid understanding of test methodologies and processes within an Agile environment
• Design and implement test scenarios for use within our automation test framework
• Understanding of the BDD/ATDD approach to writing tests
• Work collaboratively and be an active contributor to continuous improvement within a team, providing honest and open feedback based on your experience
• Be an active contributor to the execution of our Digital and Technology strategy
• Provide leadership on best practice for UI and Front end design.
• Mentor and coach other members of the testing community
• Support the Product Owners and Engineers by advising on the practicability of solution alternatives and providing recommendations
• Undertake all roles required as a part of an agile development team to design, build and deploy bespoke applications in line with business needs and priorities
• Contribute to post implementation reviews to incorporate learning's into future work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Interest of new technologies and know where it's appropriate to use them
• Experience in SQL as well as one or more of C#, VB .NET, Java, or similar programming
• An understanding of working with AGILE + DevOps.
• Demonstrable experience in software testing within a SaaS oriented development environment
• Ability to think and test iteratively
• Track record in delivering agile development of software using the appropriate tools
• Clear understanding and experience of DevOps and why its beneficial to development teams
• Knowledge of Gherkin Business Readable Language

BENEFICIAL

• Experience with testing micro services (we use AWS and Azure FaaS and .NET Core and are exploring wider.)
• Experience and understanding in using development tools, such as Azure Devops, Confluence and GitHub
• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent
