An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join a leading infrastructure contractor in Birmingham. The Temporary Works Design Engineer will be given the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects covering coastal defence and flood projects through to car parks, bridges, railway stations, energy from waste plants, airports and more.
Working closely with the Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer, the Temporary Works Design Engineer will be providing temporary design services across the full range of projects and covering formwork, crane platforms, propping, ground support, coffer dams, demolition, site establishment and falsework. The projects are located across the South of the UK and some of your key duties will include:
- Supporting the Senior Management team to ensure that the internal and subcontractor designs comply with the temp. design brief and are delivered accordingly
- Assist with the sequencing of the work and where possible, develop value engineered solutions alongside the Senior Temporary Works Engineer
- Ensure any design risks are considered and prepare the design risk assessments accordingly
- Provide support to both the site and office based teams involved with the temporary works projects
Temporary Works Design Engineers considering this opportunity will need to:
- Live in either Birmingham, London, Cardiff or Bristol
- Be willing to travel to sites across the South to check work and build relationships with the site teams
- Have previously worked in an operations/site based role on civil engineering projects
- Have excellent communication skills
