Waste Water Process Engineer

London Area - 1-3 days on site (other offices can be considered across the UK such as Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and more)

£Negotiable Market Rate - Umbrella

Brief

Waste Water Process Engineer needed on contract to join an established engineering consultancy in the London area.

We specialise in all aspects of process engineering, within the water industry, including waste-water and bioresources treatment, both in the UK and internationally, with opportunities in other sectors such as nuclear.

What the role of the Waste Water Process Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the Waste Water Process Engineer will include:

  • Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.

What experience you need to be the successful Waste Water Process Engineer:

  • Chartered Chemical / Process Engineer (preferably IChemE or CIWEM).
  • Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Fundamental understanding and experience of integrated waste-water and bioresources treatment process.
  • Design and/or operational experience of main process unit operations: primary / secondary / tertiary treatment, bioresource treatment and disposal, odour and energy management.
  • Experience of process safety techniques (HAZOP / DSEAR), capital and operational costs assessments, whole life carbon assessments as well as knowledge of UK environmental regulations.
  • Awareness of process modelling techniques and software, e.g. BioWIn, SUMO.
