Aeronautical Engineer

What the role entails:
My client require an Aeronautical Engineer (minimum SC cleared), with experience in both Civil and Military aircraft environments, and in particular the candidate must have relevant and recent experience of delivering a Military Registered Civil Owned Aircraft (MRCOA) construct. The candidate should be familiar with acquisition and be able to actively support the Lvl 4 Lead Engineer in the delivery of the project. The candidate will also be required to manage the output of a Lvl 2 Engineer.
Design Change / Military Type Certification Lead i.a.w. RA 5810 & AET Process 8
The candidate must be experienced in leading the delivery of the Military Certification of Air Systems in accordance with RA5810 using the processes detailed within the DE&S Airworthiness Team (DAT) Air Engineers Toolkit (AET). The candidate must be able to author and deliver elements of the Air System Document Set to the satisfaction of the TAA and RTSA. In addition, the candidate must have experience of delivering approved Airworthiness Strategies.
Integrity Management Lead i.a.w. RA 5726 & AET Process 18
The candidate must be experienced in implementing and supporting the delivery of Integrity Management in accordance with the Establish-Sustain-Validate-Recover-Exploit (ESVRE) management framework detailed within RA 5726. In particular, the candidate will be required to prepare an Air System Integrity Document and Plan and establish an Integrity Management Working Group prior to the Air System being introduced to service.
Air System Document Set (ADS) Lead i.a.w. RA 1310
The candidate must be competent to assist with the development and review of key elements of the ADS to the TAA's satisfaction, including the Statement of Operating Intent (SOI) and the Instructions for Sustaining Type Airworthiness (ISTA).
RTS Lead i.a.w. RA 1360
The candidate will be required to prepare Release to Service Recommendations (RTSR) supported by the associated Type Airworthiness Safety Assessment and Report (TASA/TASAR) on behalf of the TAA in accordance with RA1360 and RA1220 respectively and AET Process 16.
GEAR Compliance Lead
The candidate should have experience with assurance community and should be familiar with the Guide to Engineering Activities and Reviews (GEAR) to plan engineering activities and review engineering progress in support of the Project and must be competent to deliver technical and airworthiness evidence to a sufficient standard to support the approval of key investment decisions. The candidate should also have experience of producing and managing Project Engineering Management Plans and will also be required to produce:
- Design Configuration Management Plan (DCMP)
- Electromagnetic Effects Management Plan (E3M)
- Human Factors Integration Plan (HFIP)
- Standardization Management Plan
- Safety Management Pan (SMP)
Independence Co-ordinator
The candidate will be required to co-ordinate the independent scrutiny of certification evidence and Airworthiness products with the Independent Safety Auditor (ISA), Independent Structural Airworthiness Advisor (ISAA), Independent Technical Evaluator (ITE) and Independent Test & Evaluation (ITEA) Manager in support of the Project.
Safety Engineering Lead
In addition to the core engineering activities described the candidate will be required to lead on the preparation of the following project specific Safety Products:
- Equipment Contribution to Risk to Life (ECtRtL) Log i.a.w. RA1220 and AET Process 17).
- TASA/TASAR i.a.w. RA 1220 & AET Process 16.
- The establishment and maintenance of a record that demonstrates Project compliance to MRPs.
Registrations
- IEng or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- Typically an Engineer member of a relevant Professional Engineering/Science Institute or equivalent body.
Qualifications
- A Degree or equivalent qualification level in Engineering or Science related discipline.
