Assistant Quantity Surveyor
£28,000 to £35,000 + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join to a well regarded, leading residential developer at their offices near to Maidenhead. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be joining a growing region and working on complex and interesting projects across the home counties. These projects typically vary in value from £50m to £400m and often include the construction of luxury apartments, landscaping, car parking and all the associated infrastructure.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be taking responsibility for specific packages on a development and tasked with ensuring cost effective and efficient delivery of those packages. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing various reports as required
  • Identifying commercial risks & opportunities
  • Working closely with the technical team and design consultants to ensure the design concepts and proposals are delivered inline with the approved budgets
  • Monitor changes so as to continuously identify the status of additional costs
  • Procurement of subcontractors
  • Prepare the scope of works and trade packages
  • Manage the subcontract tendering process
  • Attend design team meetings
  • Attend site progress meetings
  • Support other members of the commercial team
  • Support the wider project team where possible with any commercial or contractual queries

Assistant Quantity Surveyors considering applying for this position will need to have a proactive, self-driven and results oriented outlook and a degree in Quantity Surveying. You will ideally need to have gained at least 6 months of site experience, either through a paid permanent position or as part of an industrial placement.
