An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering voids, maintenance and refurbishment work to a large housing association covering the North West. With a mix of office (Manchester), site visits and home working, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be supporting a QS & Senior QS with a portfolio of work for a number of social housing clients across the region.
Some of the Assistant Quantity Surveyors main responsibilities will include:
- Assist the Senior QS with commercial administration at each stage of the project
- Prepare accurate monthly applications for payment
- Sub-contract procurement and commercial management
- Change management control
- Preparation of documentation for valuations, procurement and/or commercial administration
- Support the buying team with procurement and buying opportunities
- Support the SQS & MQS with day to day cost control, monitoring & reporting
- Provide contractual support to the site/ops. team
- Process subcontractor requests for payment
- Attend project related meetings

Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have worked as a Quantity Surveyor for a UK based main contractor. Experience working within responsive repairs, void refurbishments and planned maintenance works for the affordable housing sector will be advantageous.
