The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Change Commercial Manager?
- Renegotiate entitlements regarding changes in time and finances outlined in the contract.
- Proactively identify and submit change notices, converting them into compensation events when applicable.
- Utilize a strong understanding of recognized delay analysis techniques to collaborate with BBV planners in determining entitlements for adjusting planned Key Dates and Completion Date, along with associated Defined Costs.
- Prepare quotations covering adjustments to Key Dates and Completion Date entitlements, pricing changes, time and risk analysis for compensation events, proposed compensation events, and preliminary assessments for potential changes as directed.
- Supervise a small team and coordinate with relevant teams in enabling functions and other sublots to ensure timely submission of compensation events, quotations, and time analyses, maintaining consistency and bolstering BBV's commercial position.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently in advising on, preparing, and drafting detailed compensation event and claim documentation demonstrating entitlements under the contract.
- Provide support to the Commercial Lead as needed in other change-related matters.
- Assist in negotiating and resolving compensation events and disputes, including the preparation of escalation papers if required.
What are we looking for in our next Change Commercial Manager?
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
- Membership of RICS, CICES or CIOB
- The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- Fully conversant with the change process required under NEC3/4
- Compensation Events & Quotations to be submitted under NEC3/4
- Experience with contract administration software such as Cemar
