Chartered Surveyor

£60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus and Benefits Package

We are working with a national advisory team who are looking to appoint a Chartered Surveyor who has experience or desire to work within monitoring.
The position will suit a Chartered Surveyor from either Building Surveying or Quantity Surveying backgrounds who are perhaps keen to make the move across in to an area of the market that will utilise their surveying skills alongside their client relationship building skills and to view a project from
a different financial angle.

In this role the Chartered Surveyor will typically work closely with the external Clients and Banks acting as part of a full initial review of development proposals, reporting and advising on all aspects of the delivery of a real estate development (developer credentials, financing, budget appraisals, programme, design, statutory consents, third party legal agreements, site investigations and construction commercial set up) and identifying development risks, with advice feeding into the
structuring of transactions. In addition, monthly monitoring of the development, approving draw-downs from the agreed fund, progress and how the various risks and challenges in the development process are being managed.

The Chartered Surveyor will typically be tasked with:

  • Performing Bank Loan monitoring on behalf of banks and funders.
  • Dividing your time between sites, report writing, and attending meetings to build relations.
  • Produce written reports on the viability of a development project and budgetary control, quality, progress, insurances, contracts and adherence to statutory processes.
  • Agreeing and authorising interim valuations for release of funds by the banks.

The required experience of the Chartered Surveyor is:

  • Educated to degree standard within a relevant construction / surveying field and ideally hold membership to RICS or the CIOB
  • Good rounded and practical understanding of construction with a bias towards residential new build and refurbishment.
  • Excellent client facing communication skills and enjoy meeting people with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Possess excellent budget estimating and control, pricing, and general surveying experience
  • Able to prepare and agree interim valuations
  • Have a firm understanding of costs associated with construction with good practical knowledge of the construction process on a live residential or refurbishment site
  • Good working knowledge of JCT Building Contracts

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Chartered Surveyor to further develop their career with an established property advisory firm.
