Brief
Cloud Engineer needed for a multinational Defence and Security organisation based in Worcestershire who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Cloud Engineer that takes pride in their work with experience as an engineer for cloud infrastructure or cloud-hosted software, an understanding and experience of emerging cloud services and data architectures and experience using DevOps technologies.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Cloud Engineer will include:
- Advising and shaping technical best practices
- Implementing designs to ensure security, scalability and robustness of all created services
- Advising on scope, interfaces and estimate project development effort
- Working with other engineers within the company to provide consistent and novel ways of working, design patterns and cross-team working
What experience you need to be the successful Cloud Engineer:
- Experience as an engineer for cloud infrastructure or cloud-hosted software
- Understanding and experience of emerging cloud services and data architectures
- Experience using DevOps technologies
- Experience in working in an agile software development environment
- Good knowledge of AWS or Azure
Desirable requirements:
- AWS or Azure certification
- Previous experience with MOD, agency and customers with sensitive information
- Experience working with a number of agile workflow tools including: JIRA, Confluence, Agile
- Good use and understanding of tooling such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation
- Experience at working with agile at scale using frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS
