Electronics Engineer needed for a highly reputable power and propulsion organization for maritime and naval platforms. This role involves working as part of a small team with specific focus on electronic design. Maritime Signature Management and Power specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of novel power dense, high integrity electronics.
The specific job description of the Electronics Engineer:
The Electronics Engineer will:
- Design and development of electronic circuits (including manufacture and testing)
- Analysis of electronic circuits
- Generation of requirements for electronic systems
- Electronic Schematic capture
- PCB layout advice and review (including DfM)
- Component selection, advice and review of alternatives
- Undertake engineering tasks as required by the project and the business in support of projects and programs
- Undertake internal and external meetings as required by the business
- Interface to the customer on technical and project issues where applicable
- Document appropriately the work and activities undertaken in line with local operating procedures
Skills and experience of the Electronics Engineer:
The qualities that would be beneficial for the Electronics Engineer:
- Educated as a minimum to HNC in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
- Ability to work in a team
- Able to make sound engineering judgments in terms of schedule, cost and quality
- Rapid learner, flexible and adaptable engineer willing to undertake varied tasks related to the support of the electronics and surrounding system
- An understanding of processes and techniques applicable to electronics manufacturing
- Understanding of basic analogue design
- Understanding of basic digital design
- An understanding of schematic capture and drawing review
- Circuit simulation
- Wiring definition experience
- An understanding of PCB Layout supervision
- Eligibility to hold full SC security clearance
Desirable knowledge of the Electronics Engineer:
- Knowledge of electrical design
- Experience of designing defence systems
