My Client is looking for a Facilities Engineer (Mechanical) to join them at their Ampthill site. As the company looks to grow its UK business over the next five years, it sees new opportunities to partner with the UK government to meet the country's global defence and security needs.

Working Hours

Week 1 Mon - Thur 8.30am - 5.30pm. Fri 8.30am - 4.00pm
Week 2 Mon - Thur 8.30am - 5.30pm. Fri Day off
Lunch break 30 mins each day

The successful candidate will need to be flexible with the hours.

My client has become known as a leading UK defence engineering company, delivering on a broad range of contracts for the MoD, prime contractors across the wider UK market and international defence ministries.

Specific Job Description

The Facilities Engineer will be working as a member of the facilities team. Carrying out routine planned mechanical maintenance tasks. Ensuring site assets met statutory requirements and are maintained in such a manner as to maximise uptime.

The Facilities Engineer will need to respond to emergency breakdowns across the site for electrical issues. (Including potential for a paid out of hours call out rota)

Perform unplanned maintenance / repair equipment, machinery, etc. within agreed time limits. Work on small projects where required and/or provide technical advice to projects relating to their specialist field.

The Facilities Engineer will also need to identify and if requested order supplies as needed for work. Ensure documentation of maintenance activities is accurate. The post holder will follow safe systems of work, taking reasonable care of their own health and safety, and that of others. Eliminating or reducing risks where practicable by complying with site safety rules and instructions and reporting hazards to management for prompt action.

Required skills:

  • Suitable training, qualifications and experience to work on water systems (plumbing) such as WRAS, C&G plumbing, L8 compliance awareness.

Desired skills:

  • From a service provider (JCI, MITIE, CBRE, EMCOR etc)
  • Experience in comparable industry environment
  • Formal apprenticeship

The Facilities Engineer will be in a team of 6 facilities team. This role may be suitable for ex 24/7 call out staff.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO HOLD SECURITY CLEARANCE (DV)
