Brief
Highway Design Engineer needed for a large construction organisation based in Westminster who are looking to employ a creative and experienced Highway Design Engineer to join their existing team to help deliver highway and transportation schemes in central London. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with previous experience in the Highways sector, that has an interest in the final stages of project delivery.
What the role entails:
As a Highway Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Developing highway designs in accordance with the DMRB, LCDS and TSRGD as well as other industry standard documentation and guidance.
- Producing high quality drawing and design packages using AutoCAD
- Completing the Statutory Undertaker's plant diversion processes from initial searches, through to quotations and collaborative implementation
- Compiling reports for clients and stakeholders
- Liaising with stakeholders including emergency services, highway authorities and project sponsors
- Producing comprehensive Bills of Quantities for schemes at feasibility and detail design stage (senior engineer)
What experience you need to be a successful Highway Design Engineer
- Experience in the Highways sector
- You will be adept at designing new development related projects, including highways adoption issues, S38 and S278.
- You will have worked on central London schemes and will be able to work in a fast-paced team, delivering projects in challenging locations.
- Degree qualified or equivalent and you will be a member of a relevant institution.
