Human Factors / UX Consultant

Role Description
Working as part of numerous multi-disciplinary teams, you will be helping to define and develop new medical devices and digital experiences that make a real difference to healthcare systems and subsequently improve the lives of patients.
Products can be as varoed as wearable devices with connected ecosystems to help monitor a patient's condition, to a new surgical imaging system to enhance a complex procedure. You will be helping to ensure that the needs, abilities and behaviours of humans are central to the product development process.
You will utilise a range of research and analytical techniques to accomodate and understand different stakeholders, environments and trends in how healthcare is delivered.
You will use this to help identify opportunities for new or improved technologies, products and services; and also to define customer and user requirements. As an integral part of technology and product development, you will design and lead usability studies to inform early concepts and ensure safety of final designs.
This role will rely on your creativity and curiosity to translate insights and research into meaningful design. Your team-working and communication skills will ensure that user considerations are incorporated.
Requirements
Degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology or a related discipline (also open to Product Design qualifications.
Empathetic approach.
A passion for Human Factors and User Experience Design in a medical / digital health setting.
Creativity.
A proven understanding of the fundamentals of usability.
A track record of creating insight that sets the direction in your research, technology or advanced product development projects.
A strong ability to communicate with people at all levels of an organisation / team.
Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple way.
Professional experience that demonstrates the ability to lead others and a drive to be successful.
