Infrastructure Engineer

Remote role - with just 1 day per week in office.

Join as part of Infrastructure team working on the improvement, maintenance and day to day running of the IT Infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work on achieving the Technical strategy through participating in infrastructure projects.
  • Help identify and complete tasks to continually improve the infrastructure platform.
  • Investigate and resolve problems during the IT life cycle ensuring fast and accurate solutions to meet user needs
  • Provide support and escalation point for 1st/2nd line teams in troubleshooting issues/completing tasks
  • Support and monitoring for internal and hosted servers and networks to ensure the smooth running of all systems and continued adoption of best practices
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions to all parts of the business to ensure that users are informed in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Assist with the release management process for internal code releases to production
  • Be able to document all systems and work accurately and effectively
  • Ensure all work is securely undertaken in a correct and valid way so that the company's systems and data are not compromised.
  • Ensure all disaster recovery system are working correctly and assist in performing maintenance and validation of backups
  • Participate in the Infrastructure team on call rota
  • Understand and assist in the enactment of business's continuity plans
  • Attend seminars to represent the company in the market and to keep up to date with technology, security, compliance and legislative changes that may impact the IT function and business and identify potential solutions.

  • Understand and comply with Company Data Protection and Information Security policies at all times.
  • Any other reasonable duties which you may be requested to perform from time to time.

Essential Skills:

  • Endpoint device management and support
  • Helpdesk & Ticket management solutions
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 and above
  • Considerable use of IT inside or outside work environment
  • Experience of fault finding/ diagnostics
  • Evidence of creative/ constructive use of IT
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Sees work through to completion
  • Communicates effectively both face-to-face and in writing
