Title: Lead Planning Engineer

Salary: £100,000 + car allowance + package
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Planning Engineering to join a leading main contractor on a major, high-profile construction project in Bristol valued circa £150m.
This is an excellent role for a dynamic, hands-on planner with a proven track record in the UK building industry, offering the chance to be part of a complex, multi-phase development from the early stages through to completion.
You'll play a crucial part in driving programme performance, collaborating closely with site, commercial, and design teams, and ensuring that project milestones and delivery targets are achieved.
Duties
- Take full ownership of the construction programme, ensuring alignment with project objectives and contractual requirements.
- Work closely with project, commercial, and design teams to develop, monitor, and update detailed project programmes.
- Identify potential delays, risks, and opportunities, providing proactive solutions to maintain project progress.
- Support the site management team with short-term programming and progress reporting.
- Contribute to regular client and internal reporting, including programme updates, critical path analysis, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure effective programme management from project inception through to completion.
Candidate
- Proven experience in a Senior Planner or similar planning role within a UK main contracting environment.
- Strong background in building projects such as commercial, residential, healthcare, or education developments.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and delivery planning.
- Proficient in Asta Powerproject (or similar planning software).
- Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-driven, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work well within collaborative, multi-disciplinary project teams.
