Mechanical Designer Engineer
Stevenage
Mechanical Designer Engineer needed for a multinational defense cooperation based in Stevenage. Our client is looking for someone that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of actuation and the manufacturing and design processes required for this.
The successful candidate for the role of Mechanical Designer Engineer would desirably have a relevant experience in FMEA/ FEA and knowledge of product lifecycles, mass property calculations and tolerance studies.
If you have practical experience of using the Creo 3D design tool, this is an advantage.
This role of Mechanical Designer Engineer offers:
- 6-month contract (likely to be extended)
- Competitive IR35 in-scope pay
- Hybrid working (at least 50% on site)
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Designer Engineer will include:
- Undertaking mechanical design tasks for actuation systems
- Managing the day-to-day mechanical design activities for actuation systems
- Working with cross functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of the actuation system
- Investigating and resolving design issues as they occur in the production environment and coordinating any remedial and corrective action plans.
- Providing feedback to Mechanical Design Equipment teams on issues raised to ensure continuous improvement and best practices is maintained.
What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Designer Engineer
- Knowledge of FMEA/ FEA, material selection and review processes
- Strong knowledge of design for manufacture/ assembly, environmental gasket sealing and structural design
- Design experience of PCB enclosures
- Experience of Creo 3D design tool is an advantage
