I am looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a background in Maintenance and Project Engineering to work out of Bristol for an urgent requirement. This is an ASAP start with an anticipated end date of the end of March next year. There is a high chance of an extension due to the amount of work they currently have on. SC clearance is required before you can start so it is highly desirable if you obtain it at present.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Engineer will include:

The Management and control of the submarine support equipment design change proposals submitted for assessment and equipment modifications including but not limited to the following aspects.

1. Technical information management
2. Proof of fit (prototypes and trials)
3. Timescales (manufacture, delivery etc)
4. Safety (incl impact to other systems, equipment, and maintenance activities - CIAP)
5. Tech Docs (fitting, removal and repair instructions, pre-requisites)
6. Maintenance considerations (Inspections, calibrations, load tests)
7. Short/Long term storage considerations
8. Logistic considerations (equipment identifications - NSN, Pt Nos. etc)

What you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer:

In order to be the successful Mechanical Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

Experience of planning, managing safety, engineering and design change requirements on complex engineering equipment and systems essential. Experience of engineering system maintenance and repair processes and Programme/Project Management experience desirable.
