We have a great new vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer in Shropshire detailed below.
In the role of Mechanical Engineer you will be getting involved in the design & integration of equipment at the system and sub-system levels. This is a varied role which will expose you to lots of different military vehicles and systems, enabling you to see projects through their full lifecycle.
Managing requirements and producing technical specifications.
Managing all technical issues with customers and suppliers.
Managing system design and integration into vehicle platforms.
Participation in testing acceptance and verification of systems.
Supporting the Sub System Manager, representing the company as Design Authority.
Providing engineering input to customer submissions, including cost estimating and programme plans.
Producing technical reports, meeting minutes and visit reports.
Leading and/or attending design reviews and managing the action list.
Oversee and direct the work of subordinates within the team and contribute to the development of their capability.
Conduct Performance Developments Reviews for subordinates.
Skills and qualifications:
Degree / HND or equivalent qualification or experience in Mechanical Engineering
Project Management and cross functional experience within engineering projects
Strong understanding of vehicle structures and systems and their development
Experience of requirements ownership and development, system level design, and flow-down of system level requirements to sub-system level
Experience of the whole lifecycle of projects, including integration, test and evaluation through to acceptance
Line management experience of engineering project teams
Competent in the use of Microsoft based products (Excel, Word and Project)
