Salary: £45-55,000 + package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Engineer who has a passion for construction and a proven track record in planning complex projects to join a thriving, independent consultancy based in the heart of Birmingham.
The Planning Engineer will join a fast-growing, independent consultancy known for delivering high-quality planning and project controls services across a diverse range of sectors.
The Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion. They will work closely with project teams and clients, using your planning expertise to develop, manage and maintain project schedules that keep everything running on time and on budget.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyse construction drawings and specifications
- Develop and update detailed programmes using Primavera P6 (essential)
- Integrate construction methodology into planning to ensure realistic and achievable schedules
- Contribute to the preparation of tender, baseline and progress programmes
- Monitor and report on progress, identifying critical path and key risks
- Work with NEC contracts and ensure planning compliance and accuracy
Candidate
- Strong experience in construction planning, ideally across multiple sectors
- Excellent understanding of construction drawings and construction methodology
- Proven knowledge of NEC contracts and their practical application in live projects
- High-level proficiency in Primavera P6 - this is a must
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
