Title: Planning Engineer
Location: Plymouth (Hybrid)
Salary: £50-70,000 + car allowance + package
A leading UK main contractor is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join the team delivering a complex £150m heavy civil engineering project in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a major infrastructure scheme, working alongside an experienced Planning Manager to support the successful planning and delivery of the project.
You will be responsible for supporting the development and management of the project programme, monitoring progress and providing planning insight to ensure the project is delivered efficiently. Working closely with site, engineering and commercial teams, you will help ensure the programme reflects the construction strategy and supports effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the project programme using Primavera P6
- Monitor project progress and update programmes to reflect actual performance
- Work closely with site teams to understand construction sequencing and methodology
- Identify programme risks and opportunities and support mitigation strategies
- Provide planning reports and programme updates to project stakeholders
- Support programme-related aspects of NEC contract management
Requirements
- Strong civil engineering / heavy infrastructure project experience
- Background gained within a UK main contracting environment
- Advanced Primavera P6 planning skills
- Good understanding of NEC contracts and programme management
- Strong site-based planning experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
