Principal Engineer - Safety
Location: Frimley, Weymouth, Bristol, Portsmouth, or Plymouth
Salary: Circa £60,000 (depending on experience)

🔧 What You'll Be Doing
Providing expert safety advice to project and engineering managers, ensuring that safety is embedded at every stage of design and delivery
Reviewing and gathering Design Safety Justification (DSJ) evidence from third parties
Developing robust safety arguments and documentation in line with recognised regulations and standards
Leading and mentoring a team of safety practitioners to deliver excellence in safety engineering
What You'll Bring
Essential:
Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline - Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Science
Strong understanding of safety standards such as Def Stan 00-055/00-056, IEC 61508, or equivalents
Proven experience in safety engineering within defence, maritime, or other highly regulated industries
Desirable:
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
