Procurement Manager
Looking for a highly skilled Procurement professional with a good understanding in the Rewnewable energy market, ideally with experience with heat pumps.
This position can be fully remote but you must be able to attend supplier meeting and visit client sites across the UK and might suit someone based in the Midlands but not essenitial.

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist with deep expertise in the renewables market to drive cost efficiencies, secure advantageous commercial terms, and build strategic supplier relationships. You will be responsible for negotiating with wholesalers and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to achieve savings, improved credit terms, service SLAs, and co-funding opportunities.
This role requires a strong background in procurement and supply chain management within the renewable energy sector, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to analyse costs, contracts, and supplier performance. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to optimise procurement strategies and ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Procurement & Supplier Negotiation
- Lead negotiations with wholesalers and OEMs to secure cost savings, favorable credit terms, and co-funding agreements.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with business objectives in solar, wind, battery storage, and other renewable technologies.
- Ensure suppliers provide competitive pricing, strong service-level agreements (SLAs), and reliable delivery schedules.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to optimise sourcing decisions and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Commercial & Contract Management
- Assess supplier contracts, ensuring best-in-class commercial terms and risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to enhance collaboration, reliability, and performance.
- Define KPIs and SLAs to hold suppliers accountable for quality, service, and delivery.
- Financial & Operational Impact
- Deliver measurable cost savings through structured procurement and negotiation strategies.
- Improve cash flow and financial efficiency by extending supplier credit terms where possible.
- Identify opportunities for co-funding agreements with suppliers to support capital investments or technology adoption.
- Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure procurement strategies align with overall budget and operational goals.
- Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, project management, and finance teams to ensure procurement decisions support project timelines and technical requirements.
- Communicate procurement insights, risks, and opportunities clearly to senior management.
- Develop strong internal and external relationships to enhance supply chain resilience.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven procurement experience in the renewable energy sector, with a strong track record of negotiating with wholesalers and OEMs.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in contract negotiation, supplier management, and financial analysis.
- Ability to analyse costs, assess financial risk, and drive bottom-line savings.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong numeracy skills and ability to interpret financial and contractual data.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage complex procurement processes.
- Experience securing supplier co-funding, extended credit terms, and service SLAs.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and sustainability best practices in renewables.
