The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Production Engineering Lead?
- Production Support for Sonobuoys:
- Lead and coordinate engineering support to Production.
- Address supply chain and production issues, primarily mechanical and electrical.
- Oversee production acceptance activities through range testing.
- Assess and resolve production and range failures.
- Serve as the Engineering Lead for maintaining in-service Sonobuoys, including managing obsolescence and maintaining drawings/documentation.
- Act as the engineering lead with customers, presenting design changes and modifications.
- Manage Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) aspects, such as stock management and refiling.
- Provide technical support to customers for Sonobuoy usage and associated systems.
- Lead design and trade studies as required.
What are we looking for in our next Production Engineering Lead?
- Proven success in engineering management and team leadership.
- Foundation in Systems Engineering with an understanding of Software Engineering; background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in producing engineering schedules with dependencies.
- Ability to estimate engineering tasks, review, challenge, and justify estimates.
- Skilled in managing risks, assumptions, issues, decisions, and opportunities.
- Experience with Work Package Management is ideal.
- Sonar awareness is beneficial but not essential.
