Brief

Production Planning Manager needed for a globally recognised Defence organisation based in Buckinghamshire who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Production Planning Manager that takes pride in their work with experience of working with complex ERP/MRP systems and developing efficient process, experience and in depth knowledge of best practice Planning, particularly Production Planning including Routing, Scheduling and MRP for multi-layer BOM manufacturing process and experience in delivering change projects, with demonstrated savings or improvements.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Production Planning Manager will include:

• Review the current process from receipt of customer order to delivery of product, understanding cross-functional roles and responsibilities and the use of IFS to produce a road-map
• Develop in depth knowledge of relevant areas of IFS and recommend process change as required to implement best practice Planning and looking at options for Production forward load to be entered into IFS for all resource types
• Review the current Production structure and recommend changes to improve efficiency, looking for consistency in process across sites
• Design, develop and implement an automated or easy to maintain Production/Labour Planning tool or report which provides clear visibility of the latest picture on a daily, weekly, monthly and rolling annual basis, including scheduling of all key functions and reporting on exceptions
• Support Supply Chain with relevant data and process to facilitate effective procurement
• Update or create Process and Procedure documents to reflect new or changed process and tools, to ensure the BMS is accurate
• Facilitate training of new or updated tools and process to ensure this is adhered to

What experience you need to be the successful Production Planning Manager:

• Experience of working with complex ERP/MRP systems and developing efficient process
• Experience and in-depth knowledge of best practice Planning, particularly Production Planning including Routing, Scheduling and MRP for multi-layer BOM manufacturing process
• Experience in managing cross-functional projects, with demonstrated ability to deliver required output on time and within Budget
• Experience in delivering change projects, with demonstrated savings or improvements
• In depth knowledge of Manufacturing process and all Operational inputs, including Test, QC and QA, ideally within Electrical and/or Mechanical fields
• Understanding of project-based Manufacturing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to Senior Management level
• Highly competent in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
