General Information
This post is for a Project Engineer reporting to a Project Engineering Manager. The role will assist the Chief Programme Engineer in strategic proposal development to satisfy platform customer support requirements, ensuring that assigned activities are appropriately coordinated, managed and reported.
This role is expected to be primarily based in Yeovil, although other office locations are available (Bristol / Hampshire / Gosport).
Options exist for hybrid/flexible working.
Key Tasks include:
- Leading the development of proposal statements of work (SOWs), providing coordination and leadership to engineering teams representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
- Exploiting customer-facing opportunities, supporting wider portfolio development and developing future aircraft sustainment concepts.
- Planning, identifying, and coordinating resources required to support proposal execution.
- Working with business senior leadership to ensure flow up / flow down of key proposal status information.
- Providing engineering liaison across UK and US entities.
- Responding to proposal changes, assessing the impact and negotiating proposed changes to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
- Advocating engineering initiatives, best practices and quality processes.
- Risk, Issues and Opportunities management
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- A Degree level qualification (or equivalent in-service experience) in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an engineering related field, with experience in requirements management for systems and / or services.
- Knowledge of existing UK military air platform customer support arrangements (both FLC and DE&S).
- Knowledge and experience of the UK MoD customer stakeholder environment.
