An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a growing number of high value, prestigious building projects across Edinburgh. The Quantity Surveyor will be joining a site based team and managing sub contract package/s from procurement to final accounts. You'll be given the opportunity to put their own mark on the project with ample opportunities to quickly develop your career within the business.

The Quantity Surveyor will be based on one of 3 major projects across Edinburgh, each offering it's own challenges. These include a £300m mixed use redevelopment, a £45m music hall and a high rise PRS project. Some of the Quantity Surveyors key duties will include:

• Managing and overseeing a number of commercial activities including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations, sub contract management and final account negotiations
• You'll be heavily involved with ensuring the businesses commercial risks are minimal and that they can maximise value by cost checking and undertaking analysis of all labour, plant and materials contracts
• Supporting other surveyors and the wider project team with any commercial or contractual queries

Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have previously worked for a leading main contractor on building projects with values of more than £15m. You'll need to be commercially astute with excellent communication skills and a 'can do' attitude. You'll also need a degree in Quantity Surveying or another related field.
